ARTIST NOMINATED BY Susanne Titz
Christine Tien Wang
Christine Tien Wang (1985, Washington) received her BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Art and Science in 2008 and her MFA in Painting from UCLA in 2013. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles and makes paintings and banners that serve as critiques of the state of American incarceration and income inequality. In her paintings viewers linger over the trace of an accumulation of bodily repetitions: glazing, masking, grids, measuring tape, and stencil.
