Jonathas de Andrade lives and works in Recife, Brazil. He works with installation, photography, and video to explore constructs of love and the process of urbanization, with particular emphasis on Brazil’s vibrant but often overlooked Northeast region. In his work, Posters for the Museum of the Northeast Man (2013), he photographed men in different daily activities for the museum’s posters, and tried to explore, question and reassess the issues behind the construction of a regional identity.
